Dori Media Group has clinched an agreement with TV Azteca for its daily drama Lalola.

The series of 150 episodes was produced in 2007 by Dori Media Contenidos. Lalola is based on an idea from Sebastian Ortega for Underground Contenidos. Dori Media will have exclusive distribution tape rights for the new remake.

Nadav Palti, CEO of Dori Media Group, commented: “We are delighted to see another sale of Lalola to Mexico after its production a decade ago. Not only is it highly replicable as a format, but it also is an exceptional [concept that] has the potential to completely redefine the changing role of strong women in society in these exciting times. Lalola is one of our strongest formats with a more than ten-year proven track record, and we expect it to have a number of remakes in the future. TV Azteca is a great place to create and adapt foreign formats. Our experience with game shows and dramas has been a success, and I am sure the Mexican audience will be very pleased with what Dori Media’s [now] offering.”

Joshua Mintz, deputy to the president of TV Azteca, commented: “We are excited about bringing Lalola to Mexico as part of our evolution. Benjamín Salinas, CEO of TV Azteca, has taken the lead to shape a new era of television in Mexico by getting the audience the best content through TV Azteca because that’s what we as audiences want to see. What Lalola has achieved in Argentina and abroad is remarkable; I believe the public will enjoy it and I trust this will be a hit on TV Azteca.”
