The Rap Game UK is expanding its brand through the Fortnite Creative platform.

The U.K.’s longest-running unscripted show focused on Black British music and culture is bringing its world to Fortnite. The collaboration between The Rap Game UK and HaZimation is the first rap battle to take place in Fortnite and will feature motion-captured live rap battles along with avatars of each of the artists featured in the experience.

The Fortnite rap battle will see iconic contestants square off with proceedings hosted by Grammy Award winner Flowdan. Beginning in a warehouse, then a city and, finally, a rap battle in space, players will complete unique challenges to progress. In addition to Flowdan, the other artists that will feature in the rap battles include series three alumni POCAA and winner Saidu, series five finalist T.Roadz and winner LR Loose.

Tom O’Brien, managing director of Naked and executive producer of The Rap Game UK, said: “The Rap Game UK has been a show that has been breaking creative boundaries from its inception. This latest collaboration within Fortnite solidifies how clearly and innovatively we communicate directly with the show’s current and future audience.”

Fiona Campbell, controller for the youth audience for the BBC iPlayer and BBC Three, said: “Merging the worlds of The Rap Game UK, music performance, gaming and social interaction is exactly the kind of future-facing audience offer BBC Three and BBC iPlayer is all about. This first of its kind innovation brilliant produced by HaZimation celebrates the talented rappers that have featured in past series and brings their work to life in a new way.”

Flowdan, the host of The Rap Game UK’s Fortnite Experience, said: “What you can expect from The Rap Game UK experience in Fortnite is lyrics, battling, bars, respect, disrespect, creativity, laughter, jokes and pain.”
