LOS ANGELES: Electus International has licensed the format rights for The Raft to RTL in the Netherlands, where Zodiak will produce six local episodes to air on RTL5 this spring.

The series originally debuted in the U.S. on National Geographic Channel last summer. It follows two separate two-man rafts as they fight the harshest of ocean conditions in an attempt to stay alive.

The Raft combines the excitement of a survival series with the uncertainty of a social experiment,” said John Pollak, the president of Electus International. “This show is an example of relatable adventure—viewers everywhere imagine what it would be like to be lost at sea, and now with this compelling format, they can see the physical, emotional, and psychological effects that happen when you’re alone out on the open ocean.”
