The Power Adaptation Premieres in Germany

The first international adaptation of the French format The Power, created by Dreamspark and Studio 89, has debuted on ProSiebenSat.1’s Joyn in Germany.

The 50-episode first season will be released online, and recap episodes will be broadcast three times a week on Pro7 to maximize audience reach. The German iteration is produced by RedSeven Entertainment.

The daily strategy game format brings together 13 celebrities isolated in a villa who must unmask a Power Player each week to avoid elimination. The format is distributed by M6 Formats and Dreamspark.

“We are thrilled about this first local adaptation of the format outside of France in a very challenging climate in Germany,” said Dimitri Gélineau, sales manager at M6 Formats.

Moe Bennani, founder and CEO of Dreamspark, added, “Seeing The Power expand beyond France and achieve such a record-breaking launch in Germany is both a proud and humbling moment for us. The Power is becoming one of those rare properties that grows stronger with every adaptation.”

In France, the second season of the format earlier this year saw rating increased by 20 percent from season one. A third season has been commissioned.
