The Backpacker Chef Returns to tvN

A second season of the celebrity-led cooking travelogue format The Backpacker Chef has premiered on CJ ENM’s tvN.

The show follows a star chef and three celebrities as they cater to clients in extreme locations, including secluded temples, ships at sea and maximum-security prisons. With only basic information, they must pack everything they need into their backpacks to cook and serve fresh meals on site.

The second season on tvN introduces heightened challenges on a more expansive scale. Renowned chef Paik Jong-won leads the team and is joined by Lee Su-geun, Huh Kyung-hwan, Ahn Bo-hyun and Ko Kyoung-pyo.

The first episode of season two shows the group’s first meeting and showcases their new “Backpacker” truck, equipped to transport a vast array of kitchen equipment and ingredients. The opening challenge is set in a challenging mudflat environment, testing the team’s endurance and cooking skills.

The second season is now airing on CJ ENM’s K-content channel tvN every Sunday.

“The concept of transforming any location into a fully operational kitchen is taken to new heights, with even more challenging and exciting culinary missions,” said Diane Min, head of format sales at CJ ENM. “The innovative content and unique setups will undoubtedly draw in viewers and keep them hooked. We are eager to share this thrilling journey with our audience.”
