RCN Slates Local Version of Miss Universe Latina: El Reality

Telemundo has sold the Miss Universe Latina: El Reality format to Colombia’s RCN for a local adaptation.

“We are pleased to extend our ongoing relationship with RCN with the sale of our most recent reality show format,” said Javier Pons, chief content officer and head of Telemundo Studios. “As our production partners for Miss Universe Latina: El Reality, they are ideally positioned to successfully adapt this format and provide their viewers with a must-watch entertainment experience as they look to select the Colombian delegate for this year’s edition of Miss Universe.”

Originally developed by Telemundo, Miss Universe Latina allowed viewers to witness the drama of the contestants’ training and coaching sessions as they all live under the same roof.

“At RCN, we strongly believe in the strength and versatility of Colombian women,” added Eugenia Vélez, VP of marketing and programming at RCN Televisión. “That conviction is at the core of Miss Universe Colombia, El Reality. This project is not just another addition to our content portfolio—it is an opportunity to help redefine the concept of beauty across today’s multiplatform ecosystem. By going beyond traditional stereotypes, the show highlights the personal and professional growth of its contestants, delivering stories that both entertain and inspire. It celebrates diversity and underscores that true beauty lies in every woman’s purpose.”
