Video Interview: Taskmaster’s Alex Horne & Greg Davies

On the heels of a six-season renewal for Channel 4 and the greenlight of a junior version, Taskmaster arrived with its 19th season in the U.K. this past weekend, continuing to put an assortment of comedians through surreal challenges crafted by the format’s creator, Alex Horne. Greg Davies is also back as “Taskmaster,” this season welcoming Fatiha El-Ghorri, Jason Mantzoukas, Mathew Baynton, Rosie Ramsey and Stevie Martin as participants.

Beyond its long-running British success, the award-winning comedy entertainment format has been remade in a host of territories and has a significant digital presence via its YouTube channel, which has more than 1.7 million subscribers.

Horne and Davies tell TV Formats Weekly about the approach to casting and devising ingenious tasks and reveal who is at the top of their wish list for future seasons.
