The Banijay Rights format Temptation Island is headed to Spain, where it will air on Mediaset España under the local title La Isla de las Tentaciones.

Cuarzo TV, a Banijay Group company, and Mediaset España have teamed up for the Spanish adaptation, which follows dating couples at a pivotal time in their relationship, where they must mutually decide if they are ready to commit to one another for the rest of their lives or should go their separate ways.

The Spanish commission follows a raft of global sales that have now been secured for the format, including in New Zealand, the Netherlands, Germany and Finland. The U.S. version has also been traveling as a finished tape to markets such as Canada.

Cuarzo TV’s Juan Ramón Gonzalo, who is executive producing the Spanish version, commented: “Temptation Island has long been a key format in the Banijay catalog, and we have no doubt it will resonate with our audiences here in Spain. With love and drama at the heart of the show, it has all the elements of a prime-time hit.”
