Sky Vision has sold new formats The Secret Life of the Zoo and Muslims Like Us to the Netherlands.

The Secret Life of the Zoo, the BAFTA-nominated docuseries that’s been a hit for Channel 4 in the U.K. where it’s currently in its sixth season, is set in Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen for the Dutch remake. It will be produced by I Care Productions and has been picked up by NTR in the Netherlands.

Love Productions’ BAFTA award-winning docuseries Muslims Like Us has also been acquired by NTR in the Netherlands. It’s produced by Sputnik Media and began airing in the Netherlands in December. In Muslims Like Us, eight Dutch Muslims with different opinions and beliefs come together and try to decide what the rules of life are, and question what it means to be a Muslim.

Leona Connell, sales director for Sky Vision, said: “The Secret Life of the Zoo has been a huge success in the U.K. and I’m sure the show will delight Dutch audiences. Muslims Like Us is a compelling series that raises questions that Muslims throughout Europe are asking and will make gripping viewing.”

René Takken, a spokesperson for NTR, added: “The Dutch version of Muslims Like Us was praised by TV critics in the Netherlands and we hope and expect that The Secret Life of the Zoo will also be a success.”
