The Indian adaptation of the scripted comedy La Famiglia, from the Armoza Formats catalog, has been picked up by Amazon Prime Video.

The series, which was produced by the Indian studio Applause Entertainment, will go live on Amazon on June 7 under the local title Mind the Malhotras. The show follows the lives of a perfectly normal suburban family living in the divorce capital of the country. With many reasons to be happy, they have even more reasons to go to therapy. Their therapy sessions provide the basis for the series.

Sameer Nair, CEO of Applause Entertainment, said: “We’re excited about our collaboration with Armoza Formats as their stories are incredibly universal. Our next show, Mind the Malhotras, is the official adaptation of La Famiglia and is a perfect entertainer. We are thrilled to present a delightful and quirky family comedy to Indian audiences.”

Avi Armoza, CEO of Armoza Formats, commented: “Our successful partnership with Applause has led to high-quality productions that stay true to the original series while adding a unique Indian spin. We are thrilled to be continuing to collaborate with them and that their adaptation of La Famiglia will be available on Amazon Prime Video, allowing audiences everywhere to enjoy this entertaining and relatable family comedy.”
