GRB Media Ranch Sends Blind Dating to Africa, Picks Up Docuseries

GRB Media Ranch has sold the Blind Dating format into Africa for a local adaptation and acquired the docuseries Medical Stories for distribution.

In the studio-based dating game show Blind Dating, three single men and three single women answer personal questions without seeing each other while digging for clues on social media to learn more in order to find their perfect match. ABY Media will produce a local adaptation in Africa.

Blind Dating was originally created and aired in French-speaking Canada.

“The format sale of Blind Dating is especially meaningful to me,” said Sophie Ferron, president of GRB Media Ranch. “I grew up on the set of this series, as my father created and produced it in Canada. It remained a huge hit and was remade twice for new generations. He passed away last year and would be proud to see it travel. I thank GRB Media Ranch’s Liz Levenson for closing this deal with Bernard Azria of ABY Media for many African territories.”

“ABY Media is very happy to have acquired this special format from our partners at GRB Media Ranch,” said Kimberley Azria of ABY Media. “We know that it will be a popular show in Africa with many audiences!”

Medical Stories, produced by Inventi Media Group and airing on PBS, captures the experiences of medical and emergency personnel while dealing with the life-threatening conditions of critically ill and injured patients. It features in-depth commentary from renowned medical experts and researchers, who give viewers insight into baffling conditions and the cutting-edge techniques used in developing novel treatments. There are 39 episodes currently available.

“We are excited to have acquired the Emmy-winning docuseries Medical Stories, which clearly underlines our commitment to delivering diverse and compelling narratives,” Ferron said. “We are here at MIPTV to discuss all our fantastic properties. At GRB Media Ranch, we’ve got stories.”

“Inventi Media Group is thrilled that GRB Media Ranch is representing our award-winning series Medical Stories for distribution,” commented Brian Chris Capozzi, executive producer and director at Inventi Media Group. “Their expertise in the global marketplace is well-known and respected. With them, we are confident that viewers in other parts of the world will soon be experiencing the heartfelt and dramatic stories from our series.”

Bob Buruchian, also an executive producer and director at Inventi Media Group, added, “GRB Media Ranch’s global representation of our Medical Stories series is a source of great excitement for our team. With their esteemed expertise, we’re confident our compelling narratives will captivate audiences worldwide.”
