Germany’s RTL2 to Adapt Shipwrecked

Banijay Productions Germany is set to produce a local prime-time version of the reality-adventure format Shipwrecked for RTL2.

Based on the U.K. format originally produced by Fizz (part of RDF Television) and Motion Content Group for E4, the series will mark the first international remake of the format since it was rebooted this year.

On two remote islands, two rival tribes battle against each other for new recruits. At the end of each episode, the new arrivals must decide which tribe they want to join.

Arno Schneppenheim, managing director of Banijay Productions Germany, commented: “Shipwrecked is a warm, positive and modern adventure reality-show format, perfect for a young German audience. This is a hot format right now following its recent reboot, and we’re proud to be the first out of the blocks with RTL2 as our partner.”
