Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) has struck a deal with Hungry McBear Media to serve as the exclusive international distributor of the feel-good game show The Wheel.

Hosted by Michael McIntyre for BBC One, The Wheel is a brand-new quiz format that features a giant, never-before-seen celebrity-packed spinning wheel. Contestants compete to win jackpot prizes, helped by a rotating roster of celebrity experts.

WBITVP will be the international distributor for the show, bringing The Wheel to global audiences through its network of local production companies and taking the show to the international marketplace for remaining territories. WBITVP will represent both format and finished tape rights outside of the U.K. and U.S.

Dan Baldwin, managing director of Hungry Bear Media, said: “We are extremely excited and proud to bring The Wheel to international audiences and to have WBITVP as our distribution and production partner. The passion shown by the team at Warner Bros., their vast experience and deep international reach, means that they are best placed to grow our show into the next global hit format. That’s All Folks!”

McIntyre added: “The Wheel is the most exciting and entertaining format I have ever been involved with and I’m delighted that Warner Bros. will be spinning it around the world!”

Andrew Zein, senior VP of creative format development and sales at WBITVP, said: “The Wheel is a uniquely brilliant concept that has excited us since its early development. We’re thrilled to now be working closely with Michael, Dan and the whole Hungry McBear team to bring this fantastic format into the homes of audiences across the world.”
