LONDON: France 2 has commissioned BBC Worldwide Productions France to produce a local version of the competition series The Big Painting Challenge, focused on finding the country’s best amateur painter.

The series, set to air as A Vos Pinceaux, will begin filming this summer. Expert judges Fabrice Bousteau and Bruno Vannacci will critique the work of participants, with the winner having their art exhibited in a prestigious location. Marianne James of Prodiges will host the series.

This is the second sale of the format after BBC Worldwide Productions Nordics’ recent commission for Sweden’s SVT.

Suzanne Kendrick, the head of global format sales, said: “I am delighted that French audiences will be the next to experience this remarkable program that is dedicated to the colorful and inspiring world of art, and I am looking forward to seeing the format travel to even more countries in the future.”
