Fremantle has clinched its first commissions for the new reality-dating format Five Guys a Week, which is getting local versions on RTL4 in Holland and TV4 in Sweden.

Created by Label1 for Channel 4 in the U.K., the format is set to land a commission in France soon.

Fast-tracking the “getting to know you” period, one single girl invites five guys who are looking for love to move into her home and live with her for a week, all at the same time, all under one roof.

Rob Clark, director of global entertainment at Fremantle, said: “Entering the market with commissions from RTL4 and TV4 is a fantastic kick-off for our MIPCOM campaign for Five Guys a Week. The format has an authentic premise and taps into the universal theme of people’s desire to find lasting love. This is fantastic storytelling built around a simple structure that we’re confident audiences around the world will find compelling and highly entertaining.”

Simon Dickson, creative director and co-founder of Label1, said: “It’s such a simple idea, with a title that hooks you in and makes you want to watch. We’re thrilled that Fremantle is already well on the way to making it a global hit.”
