CBC Licenses Bake Off Format for Canada

OTTAWA: CBC has commissioned an 8×1-hour Canadian version of the hit format The Great British Bake Off.

The Great Canadian Baking Show will launch on CBC in the fall. Proper Television is producing in association with CBC and Love Productions. The original British version will also air on CBC this summer as The Great British Baking Show.

“The Great Canadian Baking Show will deliver a distinctly homegrown take on this global television phenomenon, which audiences just can’t get enough of,” said Jennifer Dettman, executive director of unscripted content at CBC. “We’re thrilled to partner with Proper to give amateur Canadian bakers a platform to tell their diverse stories and showcase their extraordinary talents on a national stage.”
