Blue Ant Media has ordered Hoarders: Canada, an adaptation of the A+E Networks format Hoarders, to be produced by Saloon Media.

The Canadian adaptation marks the first-ever commission for the format outside of the U.S. It will see leading Canadian psychologists work in tandem with extreme cleanup experts to help individuals affected by compulsive hoarding.

Hoarders: Canada is set to premiere on Blue Ant Media’s speciality channel Makeful in late 2022. Michael Kot, Betty Orr and Pam Mcnair serve as executive producers alongside Franklin Cumberbatch and Peter Tarshis for A+E Networks. Series producer is Shannon McKinnon, while Deborah MacDanold is supervising producer.

“Blue Ant Media’s global makeup enables us to work with industry-leading partners to license and localize popular TV formats and give them homegrown voices,” said Sam Linton, VP and head of original content for Canadian media at Blue Ant Media. “We’re proud to be partnering with A+E Networks to bring this hit franchise to Canadians nationwide.
