Armoza Wedding Format Lands in Two New Territories

TEL AVIV: Armoza Formats’s wedding-themed factual-entertainment show Marry Me Now is being adapted in South Africa and French Belgium.

Marry Me Now has been acquired in South Africa by Media 24’s Via TV for a local treatment in Afrikaans. French-Belgian production company Butterfish Group also snapped up the adaptation rights for the show, which is additionally headed to France, Italy, Germany and Australia.

Marry Me Now looks on as women who are tired of waiting for their boyfriends to propose plan their weddings in a few days without the consent of their grooms-to-be. On the third day, each woman will surprise her partner with an ambush proposal and if he agrees, they will be married on the spot.

Pat van Heerden, the head of content of Via TV, commented: “We loved Marry Me Now from the first moment. It is a format that gives women the chance to take their destiny in their own hands, and we feel that this is the perfect match for a women-focused channel such as ourselves.”

Avi Armoza, the CEO of Armoza Formats, added: “We are excited to see the continued enthusiasm for Marry Me Now as it grows to new countries. The fun and engaging way in which it takes an almost unquestioned status quo of our society and challenges this norm, makes for an exciting and emotional viewing experience.”
