America’s Got Talent Returns to truTV in the U.K.

LONDON: The upcoming 11th season of America’s Got Talent is set to debut on truTV in the U.K. next month thanks to an exclusive agreement with FremantleMedia International.

The U.S. version of the reality competition format will return to Turner’s truTV in the U.K. on Tuesday, June 14, at 8 p.m. The new season will see format creator and executive producer Simon Cowell join a judging panel comprised of Mel B, Heidi Klum and Howie Mandel. Nick Cannon will continue as host.

“Without sounding too arrogant, I am going to call us The Fantastic Four,” said Cowell. “I like this panel because they are slightly nuts. And now let’s find a star.”

Steve Hornsey, Turner’s director of general entertainment for Northern Europe, stated: “We’re thrilled to be bringing America’s number one entertainment show back to the U.K. in 2016, exclusively on truTV. With Simon Cowell in the judges’ seat, it’s going to make an unmissable season! America’s Got Talent is a celebration of creativity and talent and U.K. viewers can expect nothing less than addictive viewing and jaw-dropping moments from its judges and contestants alike.”

Jamie Lynn, the executive VP and head of sales and distribution for EMEA at FremantleMedia International, added: “We’re looking forward to bringing another season of America’s Got Talent to the U.K. with truTV. The series has always been a must-see for U.S. audiences having consecutively ranked as the number one show of the summer in the U.S. for the past decade. Everyone is excited about Simon Cowell joining the judging panel and it will be a treat for U.K. audiences to see him in action on the other side of the pond. The eleventh series is set to be bolder and more explosively entertaining than ever before.”

America’s Got Talent first launched in 2006. The show is produced by FremantleMedia North America and Syco Entertainment. The Got Talent format is co-owned by Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia.
