All Against 1 Extends Footprint in Nordics

LONDON: Banijay’s entertainment format All Against 1 has received a season-two order in Denmark and new commissions in Finland and Norway.

All Against 1 launched on Denmark’s DR1 in May and has been renewed for a sophomore season. In addition, a local version of the studio-based entertainment format was commissioned by Nelonen in Finland, while a 90-minute version of the format is in development for NRK in Norway. Banijay is also in advanced negotiations with broadcaster Sat.1 to produce the format in Germany.

All Against 1 sees one contestant being asked the same questions as the show’s viewers, who respond using an app. The questions range from everyday science topics to sports dares or stunts, and the contestant must beat out the entire nation to win the jackpot. The format is owned jointly by Nordisk Film TV Denmark, Nordisk Film TV Norway and Norwegian pubcaster NRK.

Pia Basberg, commissioning editor at NRK, said, “After our successful event show King of Chess in 2014, we challenged Nordisk Film & TV to make a broader entertainment show. In All Against 1 we really have a great take on a weekend prime-time show, which appeals to a broad audience, in particular capturing the attention of the hard-to-please youth audience through the use of the app, which allows everyone to play along at home.”
