This Is Your Fridge Rebooted for Sweden

Sweden’s Kanal 5 is rebooting the Nordic format This Is Your Fridge this fall.

The Warner Bros. Discovery-owned Kanal 5 will relaunch the format with award-winning chef Tareq Taylor as host. Warner Bros. International Television Production (WBITVP) Sweden will produce.

Originally launched in the early 1990s in the U.K., the format and traveled to Germany (NDR), Denmark (TV2), Sweden (SVT) and Norway (TV2). It sees a famous chef take on the challenge of cooking a three-course dinner in a celebrity home using only the ingredients already in the fridge.

Mattias Almbring Norberg, head of development for Scandinavia, said: “WBITVP Sweden is thrilled to bring back one of the most iconic Swedish shows to the market. The show was loved by almost every Swede back in the ’90s, and we are so happy to have the famous chef and TV host Tareq Taylor attached to the format.”

Siobhan Crawford of Glow Media, which represents the format, said: “This reboot is a labor of love. It has taken me years to bring it back but it is such an iconic show in the Nordics, I hope the rest of world will see this as the bingeable addictive viewing I do.
