Video Interview: TIMS&B Productions’ Burak Sağyaşar

A powerhouse in the Turkish drama production landscape, TIMS&B Productions is behind such successes as The Trusted and Bitter Lands. It has forged a relationship with Inter Medya, which sold Bitter Lands and The Trusted into a slew of markets around the globe. Inter Medya and TIMS&B are also collaborating on taking the new drama Deception out to the international market.

Deception (Aldatmak), which broadcasts on ATV on Thursday nights, is proving to be a hit. The drama features the Yenersoy family, who, from the outside, has a picture-perfect life based on trust and love, but the truth is completely different from this false reality. Although everything seems to be going well, the materfamilias Güzide is not aware that the events buried in the past will come to light again. It stars Vahide Perçin, Ercan Kesal, Mustafa Uğurlu, Yusuf Çim and Feyza Sevil Güngör. Murat Saraçoğlu, who also directed Bitter Lands, serves as director, and Ayfer Tunç, the screenwriter of Bitter Lands, is writing.

Burak Sağyaşar, co-founder and CEO of TIMS&B Productions, spoke to TV Drama Weekly’s Mansha Daswani about the strength of the collaboration with Inter Medya, the origins of Deception and the new and modern elements keeping Turkish dramas fresh on the global stage.
