New Detective Series with Taron Egerton for Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has revealed Firebug, a new Apple original drama from creator Dennis Lehane that will star and be executive produced by Taron Egerton.

Written by Lehane, the series follows a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator as they pursue two serial arsonists. The story is inspired by some of the events presented in truth.media’s Firebug podcast.

In addition to Egerton, executive producers are Lehane, Richard Plepler for EDEN Productions, Bradley Thomas and Dan Friedkin for Imperative Entertainment, Marc Smerling for Truth Podcasting Corp. and Kary Antholis, who hosted the original podcast, for Crime Story Media.

Firebug is the latest collaboration for Egerton, Lehane, Plepler, Antholis and Thomas, who all previously worked together on Black Bird. It is also the fourth project hailing from Apple Studios and produced by Imperative Entertainment, joining Black Bird, Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Killers of the Flower Moon and the recently announced The Wager.
