Disney+ to Debut Thriller Starring Jeff Bridges

The Old Man, a new thriller starring Jeff Bridges and based on Thomas Perry’s best-selling novel, will premiere in the U.K. on Disney+ under its Star banner.

The series centers on Dan Chase, who absconded from the CIA and has been living off the grid. When an assassin arrives and tries to take him out, Chase realizes he must reconcile his past to ensure his future.

With Chase out of hiding, the FBI’s assistant director for counterintelligence, his protégé and a special agent from the CIA come together to hunt him down. When he proves more difficult to capture than expected, a highly trained special ops contractor is brought in as well.

John Lithgow, Alia Shawkat, E.J. Bonilla, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Amy Brenneman, Bill Heck, Leem Lubany and Pej Vahdat star alongside Bridges.

The Old Man adaptation was created and written by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Robert Levine. Warren Littlefield, Steinberg, Dan Shotz, Levine, Bridges, David Schiff and Jon Watts serve as executive producers. Watts also directed the first two episodes. The series is produced by 20th Television in association with The Littlefield Company.
