Bad Wolf Action Thriller Red Eye Goes Global

The airplane thriller Red Eye, starring Jing Lusi and Richard Armitage, has been sold into 120-plus territories worldwide.

In Europe, the series has been picked up by Paramount+ (Canada), France Télévisions (France), Netflix (Germany), Nova (Greece), TET (Baltics) and Max and HBO Max (Central and Eastern Europe). The drama also landed deals with AXN Asia (across Southeast Asia), TVING (Korea), Stan (Australia) and Warner Bros. Discovery (New Zealand). It will air throughout the Middle East on beIN and on MNET’s Showmax across Sub-Saharan Africa.

Red Eye is created and written by screenwriter Peter A. Dowling (Black and Blue, Flightplan), directed by Kieron Hawkes (Fortitude, Power Book IV) and produced by Bad Wolf. Sony Pictures Television secured the distribution deals. Red Eye was originally commissioned for ITV1 and ITVX in the U.K.

Told over six episodes, Red Eye is set between an all-night flight from London to Beijing, the streets of London and the corridors of power within Whitehall. It features the collision of three worlds when DC Hana Li (Lusi), journalist Jess Li (Jemma Moore) and MI5’s Madeline Delaney (Lesley Sharp) are thrown into the same life-threatening conspiracy after a British doctor, Dr. Matthew Nolan (Armitage), is arrested for murder upon flying home from Beijing.
