A+E Networks has taken on the global distribution rights to 150 movies from Reel One Entertainment and inked a new output deal with the company covering 15 additional movies a year.

The deal marks the continued expansion of A+E Networks’ movie offering following its deals with Pulse Films and East Entertainment last year. A+E Networks is launching the library at MIPTV this week. Highlights include the thrillers Secrets in the Attic and Mommy’s Little Girl and the holiday films The Christmas Consultant and Christmas in Wonderland. Other genres covered include crime, relationship and biopics.

“The Reel One catalog offers many high-quality movies perfectly suited to today’s audiences,” said Sean Cohan, the president of international and digital at A+E Networks. “Adding these fine productions to our library further maintains our position as one of the most prolific distributors of movies in the world. Broadcasters throughout the international marketplace are eager to deliver quality storytelling to audiences, whose viewing habits have evolved to include watching more and more movies at home.”

“Reel One is thrilled to be able to supply A+E with this volume of sought-after content,” added Reel One CEO Tom Berry. “It represents an expansion of our business and a great evolution of our enduring relationship with A+E, which in turn complements our existing and future partnerships with producers and broadcasters worldwide.”
