Netflix Ties Up with Narcos Showrunner Eric Newman

Netflix has inked a multiyear overall deal with showrunner and writer Eric Newman, whose credits include the hit series Narcos and the film Bright.

The new pact strengthens Newman’s relationship with Netflix, after having first brought Hemlock Grove, the service’s second original program produced, and following that up with Netflix’s global hit series Narcos, which he conceived, packaged and brought to the streaming service in 2014. He continues to serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer of Narcos.

Through his company Screen Arcade, Newman is also producing Netflix’s untitled sci-fi movie from Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, starring Jamie Foxx, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dominique Fishback.
