TV Producer Robert Halmi Sr. Dies at 90

NEW YORK: Robert Halmi Sr., the prolific TV producer who founded RHI Entertainment, passed away yesterday at the age of 90.

Halmi was born in Hungary and was a freedom fighter during WWII. He founded his production company, RHI Entertainment, in 1979. Halmi went on to produce more than 200 TV projects, often working with his son Robert Halmi Jr. His credits include Gulliver's Travels, The Odyssey, The 10th Kingdom, Moby Dick and countless others. His projects have garnered 480 Emmy nominations. Halmi himself was honored for his body of work with a Peabody Award in 1998. Recently, the producer was working on Syfy’s Olympus.
