Turner to Launch Channels in Germany

BERLIN,
November 27: Turner Broadcasting System Europe is set to launch Turner Classic
Movies (TCM) and Cartoon Network in Germany.
The new channels come upon the heels of the German launch of Turner’s 24-hour
cartoon channel Boomerang in June, 2006.

“The December 5th introduction of Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies as
24-hour, fully dubbed channels is an important step in our multi-platform and
multi-channel strategy,” says Michael G. Riley, the senior VP and general
manager of Turner Broadcasting System Europe. “Including CNN International and
Boomerang, this launch means all four core European Turner brands are now available
as 24-hour channels in Germany.

“Our
entertainment channels have long been absent from the German market, but the
recent development of digital platforms has enabled us to work with
forward-planning platforms to provide fantastic viewing choices for digital
subscribers,” adds Riley. “We regard the launch on December 5th as a vital
stepping stone.”

Cartoon Network and Turner Classic Movies will be received in Germany through
the tividi satellite platforms. Cartoon Network will also be available via
broadband.
