TiVo Enters Canadian Market

ALVISO, November 26: TiVo
will launch its Series2 Dual Tuner (DT) DVR into the Canadian market in early
December.

The device will be
available at major Canadian retail stores including Best Buy, The Brick, London
Drug and Future Shop, but will not be immediately available in Quebec. The set-top
DVR will cost C$199, plus the standard TiVo subscription fees.

The Series 2 DT DVR can
hold up to 80 hours of standard-definition content and also allows viewers to
record two shows at once. Canadian customers equipped with the device will be
able to use TiVo’s exclusive services including SeasonPass recordings, WishList
searches, online scheduling, TiVoToGo transfers, multi-room viewing as well as
the TrickPlay functionality that allows users to pause, rewind, instant replay
and slow-motion live TV.
