Tim Kring Joins MIPTV Lineup

PARIS/NEW YORK: Heroes creator and executive producer Tim Kring is to receive the 2010 Pioneer Prize at the International Digital Emmy Awards during MIPTV, and will also make a keynote address to conference delegates.

Heroes‘ multiplatform experience, Heroes Evolutions, extended the show’s story lines through mobile participation, games and graphic novels. Current digital entertainment projects include the development of a new form of multiplatform narrative with Nokia and a new web series for NBC.com, Nowhere Man. Kring will be presented with the Pioneer Prize on April 12. Additionally, Kring will deliver a keynote speech on MIPTV’s opening day.

“Tim Kring is a masterful storyteller and the Heroes Evolutions digital experience is the ultimate showcase for successfully integrating technology and content,” said International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences’ president and CEO, Bruce Paisner. “We look forward to honoring him for his innovative contributions to the field of digital entertainment with our Pioneer Prize.”

“The audience has now become collaborators throughout the many ways they connect to a story and to each other,” said Kring. I am honored to be part of this global evolution in storytelling and even more honored to be recognized by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.”
