Thom Beers Preps Feature for Graphic Novel

BURBANK, July
18: Thom Beers, whose credits include the Emmy-nominated Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers, is fast-tracking the development of
his first feature film, based on his graphic novel Chopper Zombie, which is slated for production in
early spring 2009.

The graphic
novel will be unveiled at Comic-Con International next week and will be
available in stores July 30. The Chopper Zombie movie, which follows the fate of a
talented motorcycle builder who becomes the victim of his own success, will be
produced by Beers and Original Productions’ president, Phillip Segal.

"We've been doing
series like Biker Build-Off and
Monster Garage because I love
choppers,” said Beers. “My son Max, who's ten, loves zombies. He told me that
choppers and zombies go together. So, we gotta' do it! Choppers and zombies.
Creating a graphic novel and taking it right into a feature is a truly awesome
experience, and wait until you see this chopper at Comic-Con.”
