LOS ANGELES: The Style Network has lined up a slate of documentary specials that showcase provocative and controversial topics for its Style Exposed programming event.

The event kicks off July 9 with Baring It All, which spotlights breast cancer survivors in their 20s and 30s. The following Saturday, July 16, will see the debut of Born Male, Living Female, which looks at the lives of four male-to-female transgender individuals. Also set for the Style Exposed lineup is Single with 7, looking at a single mother with seven children, ages 7 to 17.

"With this new documentary initiative, we hope to explore issues and topics that are often overlooked or misrepresented in the mainstream media but are important to our female viewers," said Katie Buchanan, the senior VP of programming and acquisitions for The Style Network. "Each installment will speak directly to Style’s core audience of young women, presenting them with engaging, informative and sometimes controversial subject matters that we hope will challenge them to understand a different point of view."
