The Sopranos Comes to an End on Sunday

NEW YORK, June 8: After 86
episodes over the course of eight-and-a-half years, The Sopranos, one of the most groundbreaking dramas in the history of television,
will air for the last time on June 10.

Fans of the HBO drama will
tune in for the highly anticipated climax of the series to see whether Tony
Soprano, a North Jersey mob boss, will get killed, wind up in jail or go free.

While it remains to be
seen whether fans will be satisfied or disappointed in the series finale, James
Gandolfini, the actor who plays Tony Soprano, told the Associated Press he is
quite calm about moving on.

Although The Sopranos has brought Gandolfini rave reviews, clout in
Hollywood and unsought celebrity, playing the gangster-in-therapy has been
quite grueling. Not only has he had to immerse himself into the psyche of a
fiendish tormented person, but as the lead character he has also had an
exhausting workload.

“But in a way, being tired
helped me play the character,” Gandolfini told the AP. “If the guy had to look
good and be handsome and happy, the hours we worked would certainly not help.
They helped ME a great deal. I was allowed to be grumpy and tired and look like
(crap)."
