The Elephant Princess Sells to Nickelodeon International

MAINZ: ZDF Enterprises and Nickelodeon have signed a deal to bring the tween live-action series The Elephant Princess to channels across Europe, including the U.K., as well as Africa and Latin America.

As part of the deal, Nickelodeon has secured rights to extensive online content for its channel websites and will roll out content in coordination with the on-air launch. The Elephant Princess will first premiere on Nickelodeon in the U.K. this spring. From Jonathan M. Shiff Productions, the 26×30-minute series follows an ordinary teenage girl who discovers that she has magical powers and is the heir to the throne of the enchanted kingdom of Manjipoor.

"The Elephant Princess, like the first Jonathan Shiff series Nickelodeon acquired from ZDF Enterprises, H20, perfectly reflects the dreams and excitement of being a teen," commented Jules Borkent, the senior VP of global acquisitions and international programming for Nickelodeon. "The exotic and unique tale of The Elephant Princess, told from a teen point of view, will greatly appeal to Nick’s core teen viewers."

Fred Burcksen, ZDF Enterprises’ VP of sales, merchandising and co-productions, added: "We are delighted to build on the success story of H2O: Just Add Water and to further fortify our close and fruitful partnership with Nickelodeon."
