TEN Renews Big Brother

SYDNEY, October 24: Network Ten has reached a deal
with Endemol Southern Star (ESS) for a seventh season of Big Brother
for launch on the Australian broadcaster next year.

TEN’s CEO, Grant Blackley, referred to the
long-running reality hit as an “enormous, enduring franchise; no other program
delivers the volume of television for and ratings share among viewers
under-40.”

Big Brother fared particularly
well this year among viewers aged 16 to 54, and audience and commercial shares
were up across all viewers. Meanwhile, Hitwise Australia ranked Big Brother as
Australia's number one TV program website every month while the series was on
air this year. More than 640,000 people registered to become members of the
website, downloading more than 10 million streams. Meanwhile, 3 mobile
customers accessed more than 3.5 million live streams, at an average of 9.3
minutes each.
