Television Syndication Company Founder Passes Away

LONGWOOD, December 22: Robert E. Yde, a television
syndication industry veteran, passed away earlier this week after a long battle
with cancer. He was 71.

Yde and his wife, Cassie Yde, ran The Television Syndication
Company, a Florida-based TV program distributor focused on children's and
lifestyle programming. Yde retired from the company in October.

The Ydes teamed up in 1973, when they married and began producing
TV shows under the banner of White Mountain Entertainment. They formed TVS Inc.
in 1989 and continued producing shows while also distributing the work of other
independent producers. TVS is best known today for the children's shows Real
Life 101
, Ultimate Choice and Kid Guides and the lifestyle series P. Allen Smith Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Cassie M. Yde; son James Robert
Yde and his wife Kathleen of Chuluota; daughter Karen Ann Ozolnieks and her
husband Paul; son John David Yde and his wife Jill; and grandchildren Clayton
Hampton Yde and Grace Ann Ozolnieks. The family has asked that, in lieu of
flowers, donations be made to the SPCA of Central Florida (Humane Society) at
2800 County Home Road, Sanford, FL 32773. A memorial service to celebrate Yde's
life has been scheduled on what would have been his 72nd birthday, December 29,
at 11 a.m. at the Baldwin-Fairchild West Altamonte Chapel, 622 West Highway
436, Altamonte Springs, Florida.
