Telemundo, Endemol Spain in Co-Pro Deal

MIAMI: Endemol Spain has inked a deal to produce adaptations of Telemundo’s top shows, such as Pasión de GavilanesVictoriaDame ChocolateSin Senos No Hay Paraíso and El Cuerpo del Deseo, for Spanish broadcasters.

As part of the co-production alliance, international distribution of the Spanish adaptations will be handled by Telemundo. Endemol Spain has an impressive local track record through its various operating subsidiaries, such as Diagonal TV, Linze TV, Zenit TV, Nadir TV and Zeppelín TV, which is currently producing the adaptation of Mr. Pells for Cuatro.

“Having successfully aired our productions in Spain for more than four consecutive years, this deal represents the natural evolution of our business in that market,” said Don Browne, the president of Telemundo. “The next step after syndicating our original content is to export our formats to be produced locally and we have found an ideal partner in Endemol. This agreement speaks to the quality and consistency of our product and the power of our brand across the world. We’re positive this deal will bring great results for both companies.”
