Telefe Showcases New Versions of Argentina Hits

BUENOS AIRES, October 5: Telefe International will offer new versions of
three of its most successful series—Forever Julia, Cool Dad and Final
Minute—
at MIPCOM.

Watch Over Me is the American adaptation of the successful Telefe Contenidos telenovela Forever
Julia
.
This new 64-episode version has already been sold to Serbia and Montenegro,
Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, the Middle East and several Asian countries.
“With the addition of Watch
Over Me
, not only did we
expand our catalogue but we have also added a product that combines the classic
telenovela, a basic Latin product, with the aesthetics and quality of a
Hollywood series,” says Alejandro Parra, the director of the international
business area at Telefe.

Super Papá is the Ecuadorian version of Cool Dad. This family comedy tells the story of a
widower who has three daughters. Also on offer is Fox Telecolombia’s version of
Final Minute, a 26-episode
HD series that will air at the end this month.

“It is worth mentioning that whenever we make a new format we also have a
new program that we can sell internationally,” Parra notes. “We have managed to
develop a new business model where, by selling a format, we are creating a new
finished product we also distribute. A clear example is the distribution of Watch
Over Me

for the markets that seek English-speaking products, and of course, we are
still distributing the format and original version of Forever Julia.”
