Telecinco Eyes Digital+

MADRID, September 17:
Spanish terrestrial broadcaster Telecinco is among the companies that have
indicated an interest in acquiring the pay-TV platform Digital+ from Prisa,
press reports indicate.

Prisa is said to have
received non-binding “indications of interest” from several companies, among
them News Corporation, Vivendi, Ono, Telefónica, Orange and Telmex, according
to the wires. Telecinco has confirmed its interest and is looking to “study the
Digital+ dossier,” a spokesperson told AFP.

Prisa is looking for a
reported 3.5 billion euros purchase price, in an effort to lower its debt and
shift its focus to the free-to-air broadcaster Cuatro.
