LONDON: Sky Living HD has picked up MGM’s TV drama Teen Wolf, based on the feature film of the same name from the 1980s, to air in the U.K. in 2011.

Teen Wolf is produced by, and will also air on, MTV in the U.S., followed by LIVING in the U.K. Criminal Minds creator Jeff Davis wrote the show and is executive producing along with Rene Echevarria, Marty Adelstein and Michael Thorn. The series is a modernized and much darker take on the film.

Chris Collie, acting head of acquisitions for the LIVING TV Group, said: “The brand awareness of the name Teen Wolf is very strong, and with a much darker, sexier modernisation of the TV series, Sky Living is sure to have a fierce bite for 2011.”

Gary Marenzi, co-president of MGM Worldwide Television, added: “Teen Wolf will captivate U.K. audiences as much for its romantic heart as for its supernatural thrills, and Sky Living is the perfect partner to guide viewers along Teen Wolf’s journey.”
