Starz Entertainment to Promote Vongo on Toshiba Notebooks

ENGLEWOOD, June 26: Starz Entertainment has reached a co-marketing agreement with Toshiba Digital Products Division to offer a free 30-day trial to Vongo—its online movie and video download service—on select models of Toshiba’s notebook computers in the U.S.

The agreement will allow Toshiba customers purchasing Satellite or Qosmio notebook computers to access a 30-day free trial to Vongo, which will provide unlimited access to more than 2,500 video titles including first-run Hollywood blockbusters, anime, concert and extreme sports videos. As part of the deal, beginning July 1, Toshiba will include a desktop icon enabling users to seamlessly access the online Vongo registration process. Once the registration is complete, the user will have 30 days to sample Vongo’s content. The 30-day trial is available only to new Vongo customers.

Vongo subscribers have unlimited access to more than 1,000 movies and 2,500 total video selections as well as a live, streaming Starz TV channel for a monthly cost of $9.99. Additional programming available to Vongo subscribers includes full-length music concerts and documentaries.

"The convergence of digital entertainment, consumer behavior and a new generation of multi-media devices has created an ideal environment for services such as Vongo,” said Joe Cantwell, the VP of advanced services for Starz Entertainment. “By extending our prior portable device relationship with Toshiba to now also cover the company’s popular notebook computer lines, we are able to offer even more mobile consumers immediate access to premium movies and video on the go. We are pleased to continue our work with Toshiba and offer their customers even more ways to enjoy the Vongo experience."
