Star World to Roll Out I’m a Celebrity…

HONG KONG: Next month, pan-Asian entertainment channel Star World will premiere the NBC version of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, which is distributed worldwide by ITV Global Content.

The show puts a host of TV stars, among them Lou Diamond Phillips, Janice Dickinson, Sanjaya Malakar and Stephen Baldwin, in a Costa Rican jungle as they participate in a range of challenges and viewers vote for their favorites. The last celebrity standing wins a cash prize for their favorite charity.

“Given the success of the show in the U.S., viewers clearly enjoy seeing celebrities taken of their comfort zone and put in a challenging environment," says Jennifer Batty, the VP of programming at the channel. "Star World is always on the lookout for shows that entertain and surprise. We are confident the show will enjoy a similar success in Asia when it launches on our channel in July.”

The series premieres on Star World on July 8 and will air every Wednesday at 9 p.m.
