STAR Names SVP of Research

HONG KONG, June 23: Ron
Plante has been appointed as the senior VP of research for STAR, working with
teams in India, Greater China and Southeast Asia, among others.

Reporting to Todd Lituchy,
the president of entertainment at STAR, Plante will spearhead ad-sales
research, market research, program research and audience-measurement research
in support of sales, programming, marketing and business-development activities
for the company.

Prior to joining STAR,
Plante served as the VP of research for Lifetime Networks, responsible for
programming and marketing research. Prior to this, he held various posts at
NBC, most recently as the VP of research for CNBC Europe.

Lituchy commented, “Ron is
a television executive with a wealth of research and marketing experience that
spans two decades and two continents. His expertise will be counted upon
heavily as we expand our offering across the region and broaden the ways in
which we build connections with our viewers and our advertisers.”
