SPTI Ups Garcia for Mexico Sales

MIAMI, February 8: Sony
Pictures Television International (SPTI) has promoted Ramon Garcia, the current
director of sales for Latin America, to executive director of distribution for
Mexico.

In his new role, Garcia
will relocate from Miami to Mexico City, where he will head SPTI’s distribution
business with responsibility for the sale of Sony film and television product
to broadcasters in Mexico. Additionally, he is responsible for licensing
programming in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Central America, as well as
supervising the development of digital delivery strategies. Garcia will
continue to report to Angel Orengo, SPTI’s VP of distribution for Latin America
and the Caribbean.

Garcia is replacing
Alexander Marin, who has been promoted to VP of distribution and has relocated to
SPTI’s European headquarters in London.

“Ramon is an integral
member of SPTI’s distribution group in Latin America, and we’re thrilled to
have him as head of our distribution business in Mexico,” said Orengo. “With
his extensive work experience and knowledge of the media landscape in Mexico,
we’re confident he’ll be continuing and growing the strength of our client
relationships in those markets."
