SPTI Launches Animax Mobile in Canada and Australia

CULVER CITY, June 14: Sony Pictures Television International
(SPTI) has launched Animax Mobile, a mobile version of its global Japanese
anime television channel, in Canada and Australia.

Animax Mobile will be available on Bell Mobility in Canada
and 3 Mobile in Australia. Canada and Australia are the first two markets where
Animax will be broadcast in a made-for-mobile format. At launch, Animax Mobile
will offer a two-hour loop of four full-length anime series, Blood+, Last Exile, ROD the TV and The
Count of Monte Cristo
. In an effort to
create a destination mobile channel for a devoted fan base, the series will be
packaged with unique interstitial material, made-for-mobile trivia elements and
the award-winning Animax graphic package. Animax Mobile is a dedicated channel
for mobile handsets and is not a rebroadcast, simultaneous co-transmission or
cut-down version of an existing television channel.

Animax is a 24-hour global anime channel that is currently
available via cable and satellite in 36 million homes in 38 countries across
Asia, Latin America, Central Europe and Germany.

Marie Jacobson, SPTI's executive VP of programming and
production for international networks, stated: "Animax Mobile is the ideal
launch pad for SPTI's multiplatform network strategy. Tailor-made for today's
young adult mobile consumer, Animax Mobile builds on the brand loyalty of
Animax and extends the consumer experience to a vast and loyal fanbase seeking
anytime anime content and culture in current and emerging markets."
