AMSTERDAM: The Dutch premium sports channel Sport1 has renewed its exclusive broadcast rights to the English Premier League for another three seasons.

The deal covers live or highlight rights for television, the Internet and mobile phones. We are pleased that for the coming three seasons our subscribers can continue to enjoy the very best that football has to offer, and can keep on following the achievements of our Dutch top-players, like Robin van Persie, Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babel."

Richard Scudamore, the Premier League’s chief executive, noted that Sport1 has "delivered fantastic coverage in the past and, I am sure, will continue to provide our Dutch fans with all the best Barclays Premier League action across a number of media platforms."

The channel, operated by Chellomedia, recently picked up the rights for the remaining and upcoming seasons of German Bundesliga. Sport1 is also home to the Spanish Primera División, the Italian Serie A and the UEFA Champions League.
