Spin-Offs Set for BBC Two’s The Restaurant

LONDON: BBC Two has commissioned two spin-off series of The Restaurant, expanding its lineup of factual entertainment offerings.

The cookery series Raymond Blanc; Step By Step (working title) will center on The Restaurant’s star and world-renowned chef Raymond Blanc. Plate Expectations (working title) will follow season two runners-up, Alasdair and James, as they go it alone as event caterers. The shows will be produced by BBC Vision Productions. The executive producers are Chloe Solomon (Raymond Blanc; Step By Step and The Restaurant) and Rachel Arnold (Plate Expectations).

Janice Hadlow, the controller of BBC Two, said: "The Restaurant is a popular, well-established program with lots of potential for expansion and I think these two new series will complement and enhance the brand."
