CANNES: SPI International has signed a non-exclusive agreement with New Films International (NFI) that will bring the latter company’s library to SPI’s channels around the globe.

The NFI catalogue includes titles featuring such acclaimed Hollywood actors as Robert Downey Jr., Denzel Washington, Meryl Streep, Bruce Willis, Hugh Jackman, Natalie Portman and Matthew McConaughey. The deal also includes a number of new and classic arthouse films with such international talent as Gerard Depardieu and Isabelle Huppert.

SPI picked up the non-exclusive TV and VOD rights to NFI content for a variety of territories, including CEE, CIS, the Baltics, ex-Yugoslavia republics, Africa, Asia and Australia.

“NFI’s movies will enhance our arthouse programming and bring color to our actual FilmBox movie channels,” said SPI President Loni Farhi.

NFI’s CEO and founder, Nesim Hason, added: “I am extremely happy to be signing this deal with Loni Farhi and his team. SPI is doing so well I have no doubt that their brand will soon become a household name all over the world.”
