Southern Star Secures NZ Deal on Beach Drama

SYDNEY, September 29:
Television New Zealand has acquired the new drama series Out of the Blue for TV2 from Southern Star International.

Out of the Blue was commissioned by the BBC U.K. and has sold to
Network Ten in Australia, AB Droits in France, VTM in Belgium, SBS in the
Netherlands, MNET in South Africa and TV2 in Norway.

Set at a beach resort in
Manly, Australia, the series begins with a group of friends returning to their
hometown for a high school reunion. However, the celebrations are brought to an
abrupt end when someone is murdered. As the remainder of the group is embroiled
in a murder investigation, friendships are challenged and loyalties torn.

Jane Wilson, the general
manager of programming for Television New Zealand, said: “TV2 is very excited
to have acquired Out of the Blue
and look forward to airing the premiere episode today. The series has a
wonderful cast and stunning beach locations. The storylines are fresh and I am
sure Out of the Blue will
become a favorite with our viewers.”
